Journey Through My Transformative 7-Day Colon Cleanse: A Personal Diary

Wendee Nicole’s Cleanse Journey

Wendee Nicole embarked on the Complete Body Cleanse Program, a thorough health detox that spans three to four months, starting with a 6-day Colon Cleanse. The experience detailed here may not entirely align with Dr. Group’s recommendations, but it reflects Wendee’s effort to follow the suggested diet and protocol as closely as possible.

Wendee’s Story

I have a significant birthday coming up in July, and I want to be in top shape by then. Age is creeping up on me, and my main goal is to lose some weight and improve my overall health by eliminating toxins from my body. Doing a cleanse always resets my digestion and makes me feel better, offering a fresh start for my health. For me, it even has a spiritual element.

Global Healing’s Colon Cleanse Program advises avoiding soy, gluten, red meat, high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, refined sugar, processed foods, canned foods, alcohol, and excess coffee or caffeine. Instead, I’ll be focusing on a variety of fruits (yes, avocados and tomatoes are fruits!).

During the six-day cleanse, I’ll take Oxy-Powder and Latero-Flora, a single-strain probiotic that targets harmful organisms in the colon. Preventive health is crucial! Dr. Group, DC says good health starts with a clean colon.

Below, I share my supplements, water intake, food diary, and daily experiences.

Friday — Day 1

Supplements:

2 Latero-Flora + 6 Oxy-Powder

Water (with lemon):

80 ounces

Breakfast:

1 cup blueberries & raspberries

1 cup ginger-mango tea

Few sips mango kombucha

1 cup watermelon chunks

Lunch:

1 avocado with sea salt

1 banana

Cold-pressed mixed vegetable-fruit juice

Snack:

? bag crunchy mango bites

1 cup mint-chamomile herbal tea

Dinner:

6 jicama tacos (jicama wraps with cucumber and carrots)

4 oz. homemade guacamole

4 mini tomatoes

1 cup watermelon

Activity:

100 crunches + plank

I woke up excited about the cleanse! Dr. Group, DC recommends drinking half your body weight in water daily, but during a cleanse, more is better. I’m drinking from a 20-ounce reusable bottle to track my intake. Room temperature water is easier to drink more quickly, so I’ve been chugging a lot today. To one of my bottles, I added a capful of organic raw apple cider vinegar.

I lunched with a friend and brought my own food: carrots, avocado, and juice. It filled me up! On the drive home, I got sleepy and later developed a headache. Rather than taking medication, I took a hot bath and inhaled lavender essential oil. Headaches and other mild discomforts are common during cleanses as part of the “healing crisis,” where your body purges toxins.

I am committed to exercising daily during the cleanse, which includes this Colon Cleanse. Even with a headache, I did 100 crunches and a 60-second plank. Exercise helps keep toxins moving out of the body.

Each evening of the cleanse, I take six capsules of Oxy-Powder, an effective oxygenated colon cleanser with no cramping the next day, just easy elimination. I appreciate being able to check off the supplements in the instruction booklet.

Saturday — Day 2

Supplements:

2 Latero-Flora + 6 Oxy-Powder

Water:

60 ounces

Breakfast:

1 cup rooibos tea

1 banana

3 dried apricots

1 unsweetened applesauce cup topped with cinnamon

Lunch:

5 jicama tacos

4 oz. homemade guacamole

Snack:

2 cups cold-pressed orange-pineapple-mango juice

? cup blackberries/blueberries

Few sips mango kombucha

? cup chopped Medjool dates in coconut flour

Dinner:

6 jicama tacos

4 oz. guacamole

Activity:

House cleaning + raking

Rode bike a couple of miles

The “healing crisis” continued. Starting the cleanse on a Friday allowed me to relax at home. I’ve found symptoms usually subside by the third day. After morning tea, I cleaned my house, feeling the urge to cleanse everything. Later, my daughter and I biked around the neighborhood and stopped at a coffee shop where I got juice.

When I returned home, I took a hot bath with Epsom salts, which contain magnesium sulfate to soothe sore muscles and joints. Supportive therapies enhance cleanses and turn baths into mini-spas with Epsom salts, Bentonite clay, and more. Other helpful therapies include massage, acupuncture, and saunas.

To focus on detoxification, I’m not taking other supplements during this cleanse besides what’s recommended by Global Healing. Although supplements are beneficial, the simpler the diet during a cleanse, the better.

That evening, I felt unusually cold and even started shivering. Despite a warm house, I used a heating pad to warm up, likely part of the healing crisis as my body eliminates toxins.

Sunday — Day 3

Supplements:

2 Latero-Flora + 4 Oxy-Powder

Water:

68 ounces

Breakfast:

? cup dried Medjool dates in coconut flour

1 cup peach passion tea

1 banana

1 dried apricot

Lunch:

? cup blueberries

1 cup peppermint tea

1 handful of dry roasted macadamia nuts

6 plantain chips

2 tablespoons pine nuts

Dinner:

5 jicama tacos

4 oz. guacamole

4 mini-tomatoes

Activity:

Stretching

100 crunches

Tae Bo

Day three and I’m feeling great with lots of energy. After some stretching and situps in the morning, I swapped popcorn for dried dates and blueberries at the movies. I aim to lose weight with this colon cleanse, knowing metabolism slows with age. Along with exercise, cleansing helps move toxins out of the body.

Although weight loss isn’t the primary goal of a colon cleanse, it can occur, especially if there’s compacted waste. Based on past cleanses, my colon should be relatively clean. At home, I enjoyed a 40-minute Tae Bo session with Billy Blanks. I took four Oxy-Powder pills to maintain regular movements without overdoing it.

Monday — Day 4

Supplements:

2 Latero-Flora + 4 Oxy-Powder

Water:

88 ounces

Breakfast:

1 cup rooibos tea

Few sips coconut water

1 banana

1 pear

1 dried banana

? cup blueberries

? cup green grapes

Snacks:

? bag organic crunchy mango bites

1 banana

Lunch:

1 cup carrot sticks

4 oz. spicy guacamole

Dinner:

15 plantain chips with ? avocado

Few sips Mango Tango juice smoothie

Activity:

Situps (60)

First day back at work and I came prepared! I brought a variety of fruits and veggies to avoid poor food choices. I drank tons of water, adding lemon and apple cider vinegar. Lunch at an Indian restaurant with friends included a couple of small bites of their vegan dishes and my main meal of carrots and guacamole. My stomach grew gassy in the afternoon, likely from Oxy-Powder’s oxygen release breaking down waste in the colon.

In the evening, I had a few plantain chips and felt guilty, but they’re essentially just bananas. Not entirely sticking to raw fruit hasn’t derailed my cleanse intentions.

Tuesday — Day 5

Supplements:

2 Latero-Flora + 4 Oxy-Powder

Water:

104 ounces

Breakfast:

1.5 cups mango juice smoothie

1 cup rooibos tea

1 dried banana

1 banana

1 Gala apple

1 cup coconut water

Lunch:

1 cup raw kale salad

? cup quinoa salad

2 red potatoes in oil

? cup corn-arugula salad

? bottle turmeric golden milk

? bottle sparkling prebiotic tonic — ginger/turmeric/lemon

Snacks:

6 organic carrot sticks, dried

? bag dried crunchy mango bites

Dinner:

? avocado w/Himalayan pink salt

Activity:

Ran for 40 min

Lunges & calf raises

As I near the end of the cleanse, I am proud of my health commitment. Although challenging to eat only fruits, the cleanse helps me notice patterns in my emotional eating habits. Completing this cleanse means I’ve eliminated poor dietary choices temporarily and opened the door to possibly giving them up permanently.

After a long run with my daughter, I felt accomplished and recognized the cleanse’s influence on eliminating habits like drinking wine. Cleanses not only clear the body but also provide reflective opportunities on eating behaviors.

Wednesday — Day 6

Supplements:

2 Latero-Flora + 2 Oxy-Powder

Water:

88 ounces

Breakfast:

Rooibos tea

1 banana

1 cup strawberries, raspberries, blueberries

? bottle mango juice smoothie

? bottle turmeric golden milk

1 grapefruit

1 dried apricot

Lunch:

2 red potatoes

? cup corn arugula salad

? cup quinoa salad

? cup roasted zucchini & sweet potato mix

? cup roasted okra

? bag dried carrots

Dinner:

Leftover salads

Activity:

25-minute yoga flow

Arm weights

In the morning, I learned from a Customer Satisfaction specialist that homemade juices are better than store-bought ones for cleansing. I snacked on a grapefruit between meetings, tiding over my rumbling stomach with a dried apricot.

Adding apple cider vinegar and lemon to my water has grown on me; the more I drink it, the more I like it. For lunch, I mixed salads from a grocery store salad bar, looking forward to my next liver cleanse where I can eat more variety.

Despite my low energy and motivation, I engaged in a 25-minute yoga flow and some arm weights. It revitalized me and underscored the importance of supportive therapies during a cleanse. I plan to reward myself with a massage and a visit to the chiropractor, transitioning smoothly to the liver cleanse.

Overall Experience

I feel incredibly happy and “clean” after eating healthily throughout the program. Exercising daily, whether running for 40 minutes, doing a gentle yoga flow, or crunches, has enhanced my well-being. My stomach is flatter, and my digestive system feels great. Structured cleanses not only benefit my physical health but also motivate me in other life areas.

Advice

Plan your meals in advance if you work. Bringing fruit for breakfast and additional raw veggies for lunch made things easier. While dining out, it’s hard to ensure everything meets the cleanse’s requirements, so bringing your own food is better. Establish a routine for taking your supplements with morning and nighttime doses.

I initially followed the six capsules of Oxy-Powder, reducing to four for better outcomes at work. The cleanse did not exactly go by the book, but it was a valuable learning experience that didn’t disrupt my daily life significantly.

During a cleanse, everyone has questions. Here are a few answered with insights from our Customer Satisfaction Team Manager Luis:

FAQs:

Can I drink store-bought juice?

You can, but making juice yourself is preferable for maintaining its natural benefits.

How long do the effects of Oxy-Powder last?

Around 18 hours, ensuring progressive stool softening and elimination.

Can I eat dried fruit?

Yes, but moderation is key to avoid overeating.

Why all fruit, can’t I just eat raw fruits and vegetables?

Fruit is ideal for colon cleansing because it contains both soluble and insoluble fiber along with high nutrient levels.

Is it okay to drink tea between taking probiotics and eating?

Yes, except tea with oregano, which can kill probiotics.

In Conclusion

Reflecting on this experience, I am proud of the accomplishments and the insights gained. The Complete Body Cleanse’s colon cleanse phase was a great start, and I look forward to continuing this journey toward better health.
